With the advent of high end digital SLR cameras , the importance of quality post-processing has become even more apparent, with the full potential of a RAW file only be revealed in a careful conversion into a usable photographic file. Even with a JPEG camera original, image post production is important to ensure the highest quality photographs.

Eric Boutilier-Brown Photography has been working with RAW files since 2002, and brings all those years of experience to each and every image processed. Though the use of a variety of RAW processing programs, Eric Boutilier-Brown Photography can offer low cost, high quality batch conversions of your RAW images, correcting colour balance, exposure, contrast and brightness. High quality monochrome conversions are available as well. The final result can be your choice of a variety of destination specific JPEG files for convenience and economy of scale, or uncompressed 16-bit TIFF files for the very best in flexibility and image quality.

Processing options:
RAW to JPEG (output specifications provided by client)
RAW to 16-bit TIFF (full camera resolution)
JPEG to corrected 8-bit TIFF (full camera resolution or output specifications provided by client)

TIFF Files are designed to provide the best in image quality, 16-bit TIFF files can be very large, and require more technical skills to take full advantage of.

JPEG Files are primarily for use on the Internet, computer presentations, and lab printing. JPEG files use lossy compression to keep file sizes low, which reduces the file's size on disk.

Fees

In-house post production is billed on a 1/2-hour basis, at $30/hour
A minimum fee of $15 will be applied to any in-house processing job

On-site post production is billed on a hourly basis, at $50/hour
A minimum fee of $100 will be applied to any on-site processing job

Sample Wedding Post Production Fee:
1000 images, edited down to 400 images, processed to specified standards (contrast, colour etc), and exported to 3 different JPEG formats (4x6, 5x7, 8x10): $300.00

Same, with three exports per size, colour, B&W, sepia: $330.00

Sample Portrait Post Production Fee:
Post-production of 30 RAW images, processed to specified standards (contrast, colour etc), and exported to 3 different JPEG formats (4x6, 5x7, 8x10): $120.00
