TBA April 2012

This ten week course (the long awaited sequel to Photo 101) continues to build student's camera skills, all the while continuing to increase the focus on content and message. The key to making strong photographs is making the best, often most extreme, choices when creating the images. Photo 201 focuses on these choices, over seven classes and three field-trips, simplifying them into five fundamental questions, and applying them over and over again to image creation.

*this course focuses on camera skills

Topics explored include:

  • the five photographic decisions (the Photo Pentagram)
  • lens buying basics
  • aperture issues and sweet-spots
  • making the most of long shutter speeds
  • accessory flash techniques
  • the (mythical) magic hour (which we'll then explore!)

The fieldtrip dates are TBA
