For the experienced photographer making the transition to digital, or the digital photographer who is currently working with JPEG files, and wishes to shift to working in RAW, this workshop centers on making the most of your Digital SLR. The flexibility and advantages of these cameras will be revealed and explored, as well as some of the shortcomings, with suggestions for alternatives being offered. Particular emphasis will be placed on using RAW format to capture quality digital images.

Learning Goals:

  • Explore custom settings and functions
  • Colour balance, exposure and histograms
  • Lenses and f/stops
  • RAW Mode
  • Basics of file processing, archiving and cataloguing

Class Size: four to eight students

Fees: $160 ($80 Spouse) / $250 one-on-one

Requirements: A digital single-lens reflex camera and lens; additional lenses (if available and appropriate); tripods are recommended. Students provide their own memory cards and batteries.
