Workshop F.A.Q.
Who should attend?
Each workshop is directed towards a specific level of photographer (colour coded as Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced) as detailed in the workshop details.
What is a typical weekend workshop like?
All our workshops start with a Friday evening classroom session from 7:00-9:00pm, with an audio-visual overview of the workshop's goals, and principals.

Saturday at 9:30am we meet up at a pre-arranged location and take the discussion and theory and applies it to the real world, with students and instructors carrying out exercises and explorations of new ideas and approaches. Around noon, we start out 90 minute break for lunch etc. Any film used during the course is processed and scanned over this period.

At 2:30pm, the students regroup in the classroom for review and critique of the mornings photographs. By 4:30, the workshop has wrapped up, and students depart.

What about bad weather?
The Maritimes are sometimes subject to sudden weather changes. Wind, fog, and rain and storm can create the most beautiful images. We cannot control the weather, we can only embrace it. When necessary, classes cancelled due to extreme weather will be rescheduled, however, no refunds will be issued for bad weather.
What equipment do I need to bring for my workshop?
This varies from workshop to workshop. In general, bring your photographic equipment: cameras, lenses, and if you have them, a tripod and filters. Additional information about equipment for individual workshops will be supplied in the course description.
How many people will be in a particular workshop?
A workshop will consist of between 4 and 12 students; for workshops with 9-12 students, an assistant will accompany the students on the field-trip.
